We end this year-long spell with a return, revisiting January’s landscape. The fog has lifted and the dry river bed is now coursing with clear water. In the words of this image we are invited to embody the walking bear but also the landscape itself. 

This is our final spell. The circle of words can be repeated as a prayer, a blessing, a reminder, a silent knowing within each heartbeat. In it we find a weaving back and forth between feeling ourselves as separate or immersed—when we “walk with” we recognize our own selfhood and agency, when we “walk as” we experience ourselves as an intrinsic expression of life itself. 

Throughout our process of creating this calendar, we could sense that 2024 would be a challenging year. The challenge we were given was this spell: a way into the cracks, a way to open to the light, a way to find ourselves in a changing world with no map, no formula. Each of the spells this year holds a piece of that experiment, and they all land us here—with and within the magic of our living earth.
